A Typically Tough Summer Night Wardening the Bungalows.......

An email I just sent my manager.  It's 3.07am here.  Thank God my fever's broken....
Hi Veronica,
This email is to follow up on our phone conversation.

The following boys were ill this evening:

B15: Igor B______
Reaction to medication he took for his nose. Throat started having pain.  Seemed like an allergy.  Saw him twice in the evening after check in.  First time after I came back from the guard with Rafal Krawiec (when he told me of his allergy), and the other time while speaking with you.  Second time he was better.

B18: Alex__________
Please remember to send Castelldefels Clinic his details.
Alex had a high fever (39.1degrees by the armpit) since 9pm.  We sponged him, gave him meds, etc. but fever remained high.  Right after I finished speaking with you the first time, he came to my bungalow shaking with a dazed look in his eyes, hardly able to walk.  Saying he "was afraid" and that everything was really loud and slow.  Took him to the clinic.  Doctor was very good, but couldn't tell what was the cause of his fever infection.  Says only thing to do is to wait it out and see where/how the symptoms develop...

Taxi fare cost: EUR46,35
Medication: EUR 1,90
TOTAL: EUR48,25

Office has to return Vinicus EUR50.  I will give you back the receipts and change of EUR1,75 tomorrow.

---------------

Among others, the main boys were problematic this evening:

B9: Rafal_______
-  Blasted music from his speakers during dinner time, said it was okay because all the other people in the bungalow "say it's okay. Only you have a problem."  I told him yesterday to keep it down, specifically which volume to take.

-  Was in girls bungalows (B23) during check in.  Said he didn't know the rules, that it was OK last year (he's been here twice before).  OK, fine.  I give him the benefit of the doubt, and calmly tell him it's not allowed.  Charlie is next to me, he witnesses this.

-  He is told twice to go back to his bungalow.  He does not listen.  Continues to walk around speaking to friends while I am getting every one back to their bungalows.

- Refuses to go back after being told multiple times, saying I am targeting only him (not true).  I speak to him so much because he is giving me so many problems.  I start raising my voice at him because he does not listen.  Then says that I was "screaming at him" when he was in the girls bungalows.  Charlie says "No, Sarah was not screaming.  Her voice was raised but she was not screaming." Rafa replies "It is the same thing."

Continues to be very rude, says I am "making things complicated" because I am "a complicated person".  That I am "blackmailing" him, etc.  There was more along those insulting lines, but I'm too tired to recall them at 2am.

- When he goes back to his bungalow 9, he insists on opening the window at the back, facing the last row of bungalows, "for fresh air." "You cannot deprive me of fresh air.  It is my human right."  While I see to Alexander, he continues to talk to other kids through his window, whistling, clicking his tongue, despite being told to stop.  He just ignores instruction.

- Octavio asks to go out to buy water.  He asks to buy water also. "I have no water. I am very thirsty.  I have no water in my bungalow.  I need to drink water."  I check the bungalow, there is water.  I say no.  1 minute later, when I am checking in on Alexander's fever, Rafa runs out of the bungalows to buy water.

- I take him out of the bungalows, with the intent to bring him to the guard, but decide against it.  He seems like an angry kid with a lot of issues.  I try to talk to him.  We are outside for, I think, approx 15 minutes.  He seems a little better.

- When we come back, the bungalows are crazy.  Israeli kids in Bungalow 16 are outside, Octavio is throwing rocks at Charlie in Bungalow 9, Igor Belineli's throat is hurting him, etc.  Girls in B23 and B17 have their doors open and are laughing.  It is 11.20pm.

-  When I take Charlie out for his punishment, Rafal agrees to calm down.  Rafa says "I want to sleep."  He agrees to stay in his bungalow.

-  I come back, I find Octavio's bungalow door still open and Rafal still outside, hiding behind bungalow 15!  "I was sleepy then.  I am not sleepy now."  He is not apologetic, avoids eye contact, continues to be rude both in tone and body language.  I tell him that his attitude "is a loser's attitude."  He walks off and refuses to talk more.  Then you call.

- For his behaviour, Rafa will pick up balls for three hours tomorrow.

B9: Charles__________
- When I am outside speaking with Rafa, Charlie does a prank and URINATES OUT OF his bungalow window.  He admits it when I ask him, and so stands outside by the guard for 2 hours.

-----

Lastly, the Israeli coach, Zachi Rudik, walked out of the bungalows during check-in tonight.  He didn't tell me he was leaving.  I only found out he went to the hotel when I was walking outside with Rafa and an Israeli boy with a tennis bag, asked me "Where is the bungalows?" I found out from this Israeli boy, that Zachi asked him to go to live in the bungalows, so that he could go to the hotel....

It would be great to have someone firm help with check-in in the bungalows for Thursday (my night off) and Friday night (Estela's night off).
