Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.
So it has been a rainy season, and I have to admit that I have a tendency of keeping very quiet when the going gets tough. Maureen, my good friend, just sent me this article, and it's too good not to share.

The sun is just starting to peak through the clouds, and I'm starting to peek out from my shell. The past three weeks were filled with painful niggling injury (tennis elbow), a terrible flu bout (think hacking green gooey phlegm), starting my new job as night warden for the academy residences (very stressful), and adjusting to the horrid cold (very cold!). Amidst the obvious roller coaster of emotions, the only thing that stayed constant was God and His abiding patient love.
So I'm back! To throw more updates (too much has been happening), and to take a deep breath, and start talking again.
I end with something I saw in the sky after a huge downpour a few days ago. An amazing, hearteningly wide double rainbow :)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm Siau Ling's daughter, Ka Onn. Maybe you can't quite recall me and my face is at best a fuzzy haze in your memory, but anyway, you came over for a durian party, which doubled as Uncle Anthony's farewell party.
I really enjoyed reading your blog. Compared to many others which I read, yours is very different. I can't quite put my finger to it (which spells doom for my future as a Full Lit student next year), but it is one that is mature and rather sensitive. Compared to others, this one is a refreshing change from mindless posting and bitching. What a change from the autopilot reactions of others!
It's a quirky , one-of-a-kind humour that infects the posts, that makes it come quite interesting and makes me think that there is actually someone behind the screen.
It's the personality and the way much of this is phrased that makes my mother and I laugh, the photos that make a good accompaniment...oh, everything.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you you've got another reader! I'll be checking (Hahah, more pressure to update regularly), but don't worry, I don't expect much because of your hectic schedule of tennis!
Anxiously awaiting your next post,
Ka Onn:)
Hi Ka Onn!
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you enjoy reading my blog. I try my best to make it as reader-friendly, and more importantly, honest and poignant as possible. After all, we more or less have the same type of clay moulding our lives. So if you can find any identity in it at all, this blog succeeds its purpose :)
Will try to update it more often, for sure. In the mean time, please give your lovely mom a big hug for me! She's like a tennis mother to me too ;)
